Anyone can buy a domain name. To do so, you visit a domain name registrar, such as A2, GoDaddy, or Namecheap, key in the domain you want to buy, and pay a fee. You can’t buy just any domain, of course—only one that isn’t already registered by another person or business and that bears a valid domain suffix.
Create A Domain Free
For a totally free domain name, you can use services like Dot.tk and Biz.nf. These companies let you register a TLD (top level domain name) completely free as long as you use their country code top level domain (ccTLD). Dot.tk requires you have a website; Biz.nf can also help you build and host one.
Not all domains can be registered for free. A limited number of domains are considered “Special” and can only be purchased. Their price varies and pricing is displayed during the availability check. For example, all 1, 2 and 3 character domains, as well as common dictionary keywords, are considered Special.
